Physicians Ambulance is a third generation, family owned and operated private ambulance service headquartered just outside Cleveland, Ohio.
Covering 14 Ohio Counties and with nearly 320 employees, Physicians Ambulance is one of the largest pre-hospital care providers in the region, with an intent focus on clinical care and the personal and professional advancement of their employees.
Founded in 1958 by Robert and Patricia Hess, Physicians Ambulance came into existence during an era where ambulance services and funeral home services often worked in tandem, and the main benefit to utilizing an emergency vehicle was the ability to get through traffic lights and to the hospital as quickly as possible.
Today, pre-hospital care has evolved and advanced service providers, like Physicians Ambulance, operate, essentially, mobile hospitals with the ability to stabilize and treat patients at an extremely high level of clinical care.
Physicians Ambulance leads the way in the markets they serve thanks to their outstanding medical direction, clinical education team, and investment in the latest technologies and methodologies.
Building upon one's core knowledge, Physicians Ambulance aims to improve the performance and confidence of their clinicians, and give them the building blocks to exceed here and in any healthcare realm with which they may pivot.
Physicians Ambulance aims to treat every employee like family.
The best companies understand that their employees make the difference and determine their future, and at Physicians Ambulance that is a core belief, and it drives their initiatives.
It is Our Mission to help and care for those who cannot for themselves.
It is our Vision to find purpose in every patient interaction (part of our Vision).
Physicians Ambulance has grown organically since its second founding in 2001 (we previously sold in 1994 to national company Rural/Metro, which has since disbanded) based on the needs and asks of our customers and partners.
We go where there is a need, and it has taken us to markets we never thought we'd be in, but in every one of those instances, we engrain ourselves in the surrounding community and make a difference where we can.
Accredited Learning Center, with 4 EMS-Is on staff! Educational Partnership with University Hospitals, offering FREE refresher courses and a pipeline for career advancement (including opportunities to train to become an EMS-I, or a Paramedic III (Critical Care Transport/ Flight Medic level)).
It is Our Mission to help and care for those who cannot for themselves.
